Snowshoeing and Hike at Bushy Run Battlefield

February 20th, 2016
Due to 60 degree weather, we just had a short snowshoeing demonstration in the grass led by Venture Outdoors, then went on a two-mile hike and learned about the battlefield and setting.

Shooting Camporee at Pitcairn-Monroeville Sportsmens Club

April 1st-2nd, 2016
The weather was not nearly as warm as our February hike, and gusts of wind hit 50 mph, but the shooting activities were great! We camped out Friday night and had fun playing ultimate frisbee, football, and freeze-tag with the other troops and crews. On Saturday, we rotated activities and were able to shoot M1 carbines, .22s, two different handguns, black powder, and even tried trap shooting. We also saw Civil War and WWII reenactments, and Abby got the chance to shoot a fully automatic WWII-era machine gun (blanks, of course!).  It was Ava and Nina's first time shooting, but no one could tell! With a terrible storm, more winds, and an inch of snow in the weather forecast, camp shut down early on Saturday night, but not without getting in a few mountain pies first!
